Betz White, artist and author of Warm Fuzzies: 30 Sweet Felted Projects is well known for her use of recycled wool sweaters to create felted pillows, baby blankets, felt covered journals, bags, and other items. She brings her work in felting with recycled sweaters to this residency and adds her passion for addressing the other recycling needs, specifically that of the plastic bag. MYOB provides an immediate solution to the plastic bag problem by getting people together to make reusable bags. An endless variety of recycled materials will be explored including plastic disposable bags, sweaters, sheets, jeans, juice pouches, tyvec mailers, vinyl banners and anything else participants have on hand.
The D.I.Y. open studios are $5.00 per person and take place in the ARTery.
