German-born Sibylle Peretti lives and works in New Orleans. She received her MFA from Academy for Art and Design in Cologne, Germany and trained as a Glass Designer at the School for Glassmaking in Zweisel, Germany. In 2006 she was awarded a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and has been a Fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center (NJ) on three separate occasions. Her work was exhibited most recently at Galerie B in Baden Baden, and Museum Alter Hof Herding in Coesfeld, both in Germany. Her work explores the lack of harmony between human beings and nature and our inability to become one with the natural world. At Kohler Co. Sibylle will produce a series of slip-cast clay figures that exemplify the tension between beauty and disease, intimacy and distance, innocence and knowledge.
