Herman Rusch’s “Prairie Moon”

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan and town of Milton in Cochrane invite you to discover and celebrate “Prairie Moon,” an art environment created by Herman Rusch, which features Rusch’s own work as well as sculptures made by other artists he admired. Prairie Moon is located in Buffalo County, north of LaCrosse.
Terri Yoho, executive director of the Kohler Foundation, will welcome visitors at 4:00 p.m., followed by a presentation by the Arts Center’s Senior Curator of Exhibitions and Collections Leslie Umberger. After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to engage in an open discussion with individuals involved in preservation, conservation, and ongoing care of this American treasure. Panelists include conservation consultant and preservationist Don Howlett, and Gary Schlosstein, grandson of Fred Schlosstein, whose works of art can be seen at the Prairie Moon Museum. The festivities continue with light refreshments until 6:00 p.m.
