Class Registration

Unless otherwise specified, advance registration is required for all classes and related programs. Places will be held only upon receipt of full tuition. Tuitions are not refundable for Preschool. Tuitions are refundable for other classes and workshops (unless noted) minus a $15 processing fee per class up to seven days before a class is to begin. Tuitions are nonrefundable after that time unless class limits are reached or a program is canceled. Supplies and equipment costs are included in the tuition unless otherwise noted. An asterisk (*) after “Tuition” for some classes denotes that a list of needed supplies is available at the Atrium Reception Desk.

MOLD MAKING AND CASTING WITH AARON STEPHAN
Ages 16-adult
Saturday and Sunday, April 12–13, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
(half-hour break for lunch each day)
(2 sessions, 11 hours)
Join Maine artist Aaron Stephan, Arts/Industry artist and sculptor, for this extraordinary opportunity to learn the basics of mold making and casting. This workshop provides the skills to cast in plaster, concrete, resin, or wax in your own studio or home. Two basic mold-making processes will be used: plaster piece molds and alginate molds (including master molds). Each participant will fabricate and pour a mold and chase a finished piece.

Tuition (includes slide-lecture, all materials, demonstrations, and two lunches):

TEXTILES IN METAL WITH JESSE MATHES

Ages 16–adult
Saturday and Sunday, May 3–4, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
(half-hour break for lunch each day)
(2 sessions, 11 hours)
Join Chicago artist Jesse Mathes for this extraordinary opportunity to apply textile techniques to metal. Using very thin gauge wire and sheet metal, students will learn spiral wire braiding, plating sheet metal, and riveting closures to create jewelry or small sculptures. All tools and materials are included. No prior experience is required.
