Bobbi Meier is a Chicago-based visual artist who has worked as a professional graphic designer, high school art educator, and fine artist. She has built her practice as an artist through her studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, earning masters’ degrees in Art Education and Fine Art. Her research in the Fiber and Material Studies Department at SAIC paved the way to her openness in the use of material to convey emotion and meaning into her objects and sculptures. By using materials that are sewn, bound, and stretched into submissive, sensual forms, she creates art with personal effects from domestic environments, transforming them into repositories of history, emotion, and memory.

Meier’s work has been recently exhibited in Illinois at the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery in Kankakee, NIU Art Museum in DeKalb, Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, and the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago.
