Facilities Technician II

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is seeking a skilled facilities technician to share responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of the physical plant and grounds.

Position Overview:

40 hours per week, primarily day hours, with rotating evenings and weekends. Ability to travel to several locations.

General duties include maintenance of the facility and grounds; upkeep such as painting, carpentry, and related building projects; preventive maintenance; repair of plumbing and electrical systems; seasonal plantings; and tree trimming.   

Additional duties include, but are not limited to, setup and take down of tables, chairs, and equipment for Arts Center events; custodial duties as needed; general lawn care; and snow removal to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.

Position Requirements:

  • 1–3 years on the job experience in one or more fields, including:  Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, horticulture and painting,
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Prior experience with hand & power tools, small-engine maintenance and the ability to troubleshoot
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision while accomplishing tasks in a timely manner
  • Physical requirements involve climbing ladders, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
