Maintenance Technician

Summary: The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is looking to expand its workforce due to the addition of the Art Preserve in the future. This full-time position will support our new facility while helping to maintain several other properties. This position reports to the Facilities Coordinator and will be performed in compliance with EPA, HAZMAT, and OSHA safety rules and regulations. At times, this person will be required to work after normal business hours to meet the demands of the workload.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In collaboration with the technical staff, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the following:

  • Help keep software for Preventive Maintenance and Maintenance items completed and up-to-date.
  • Ensure that all filters, motors, coils on all air handlers/rooftop units are functioning properly. Maintain all gas and electric humidifiers.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to all cooler and freezer units.
  • Perform repairs as needed.
  • Identify preventive maintenance gaps and make recommendations.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections.
  • Maintain regular inventory of equipment and supplies.

Education and/or Experience: Qualified candidates for this position must have HVAC formal training and an EPA certification. General knowledge of electrical power is highly recommended along with plumbing and mechanical skills.
