Internship Opportunities


Interns will work closely with the education staff to implement a broad spectrum of programs to engage visitors in the exhibitions and inspire creativity. Summer interns will primarily assist in Summer Art Camps for ages preschool through teen: visual arts, ceramics, cooking, and performing arts. Other summer programs include the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series, Midsummer Festival of the Arts in July, and the July 4th parade. Specific areas of focus depend on departmental needs and the intern’s skills and interests.


  • Manage studios, prepare materials, and assist instructors for summer camps and classes
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of education programs
  • Assist with the organization and inventory of education storage, maintenance of studios and supplies
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the Chair City Cookout (August), an event related to the Wisconsin Art Environment Consortium
  • Prepare program packets, presentation and workshop materials as needed
  • Frequently move supplies weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to assist artists and staff


  • Currently obtaining or have completed a degree in Studio Art, Art Education, Education, Museum Education, or related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with hands-on art-making processes
  • Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds

Summer 2017 Internship Dates
June 5–August 25, 2017 (may be flexible)
40 hours a week, includes some nights and weekends
