Internship Opportunities




The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex, is seeking a Marketing Intern for the summer. The intern will work closely with the marketing team, Arts Center staff members, and community business leaders in promoting, executing, and evaluating marketing efforts surrounding the summer concert series and other Arts Center programming. Specific areas of focus depend on departmental needs and the intern’s skills and interests.


  • Develop a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing efforts for the summer concert series
  • Create and implement survey to capture information from Arts Center visitors and concert attendees
  • Compile and analyze survey results
  • Work with community businesses to coordinate participation in the summer concert series
  • Represent the Arts Center at events, including the summer concert series and Midsummer Festival of the Arts (July 18–19)
  • Ideal candidate will be able to assist with creating short promotional videos and be part of our Facebook Live videos
  • Create weekly Music Series eblasts and aid with social media marketing.
  • Attend weekly planning meetings with Arts Center staff members and city representatives
  • Frequently move supplies weighing up to 40 pounds, including transporting and installing tables, chairs, tents, and signage
  • Frequently work in outdoor weather conditions


  • Currently obtaining or have completed a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus

Summer 2019 Internship Dates
June 1–August 21, 2020 (may be flexible), 40 hours a week, includes some nights/weekends
