Internship Opportunities


Performing arts programming at the Arts Center explores new directions as well as continuing and evolving cultural traditions in dance, theatre, music, and interdisciplinary forms through programming that brings together artists from around the world with diverse regional audiences. The intern will work closely with staff members to support the Performing Arts Department programming.


Sheboygan Music Series, weekly summer music series, June 22–August 24

  • Partner with community organizations to plan event night activities
  • Arrange hospitality requirements for artists
  • Partner with marketing department to create weekly promotional pieces
  • Communicate weekly details with staff
  • Attend weekly planning meetings with Arts Center staff members and city representatives
  • Frequently move supplies weighing up to 40 pounds, including transporting and installing tables, chairs, tables, tents, and signage
  • Frequently work in outdoor weather conditions

Other Performing Arts program support:

  • Research, develop, and produce education packets to complement 2016–2017 performance series
  • Research primary and secondary target groups for marketing specific programs


  • Strong interest and experience in performing arts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with many constituencies, including coworkers, department heads, and Arts Center patrons
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Access to a car is preferred

Summer 2017 Internship Dates
June 5–August 25, 2017 (may be flexible)
40 hours a week, includes some nights and weekends
