Candy Coated is a multimedia and multidimensional sculptor and master printer. She is a devout promoter of decorative culture and believes in the healing power of creative endeavors, especially art. Coated is known for her vibrant and colorful work resplendent of symbolic forms found in art, life, history, and nature, Coated fancifully abstracts, decorates, and repeats in dizzying numbers, patterns, and color combinations to merge them into her vibrant collage-like sculptural museum installations and community based public art works.

Coated has been exhibited at Beijing Museum of Art (China), The Clay Studio (PA), The Philadelphia Museum of Art (PA), Crane Arts Center (PA), Leonard Pearlstein Gallery (PA), Asterisk Gallery (OH), Icebox Projects Space (PA), Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery (NV), Vermont Clay Studio (VT), and H&H Fine Art (DC), among others. She has been an artist-in-residence at Apple Farm Center for the Arts (PA), Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rosenbach Museum and Library (PA), and The Clay Studio (PA), among others. Coated has received the Pew Fellowship in the Arts GAP Grant, the Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Grant, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, among others. Her work is in the collections of The Crane (PA); The Design Center, Philadelphia University; Green Point Bank (NY); Leeway Foundation (PA); Mason Gross School of Art, Rutgers University (NJ); and Philadelphia Museum of Art (PA), among others.

Coated earned a BFA in ceramics from Kent State University and an MFA in ceramics from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.
