Aurore Chabot

Aurore Chabot makes sculpture, wheel-thrown work in porcelain and terra cotta, and ceramic tile murals. She has completed two major national public art commissions, received two National Endowment for the Arts individual artists grants, and been invited to numerous visiting artist engagements. Her work has been included in more than one hundred national and international exhibitions and numerous books and periodicals. Chabot’s work resides in many public and private collections.

Chabot was publications director for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) National Board of Directors and was appointed to the NCECA Nominations Committee.

Chabot received her BFA from the Pratt Institute, New York, and an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Chabot has taught at the University of Vermont, and since 1988 has been a professor at the University of Arizona, where she headed the ceramics program.
