Barbara Frey’s ceramic sculptures have been exhibited in over two hundred juried, curated, and solo exhibitions. Her hand-built porcelain teapots have been shown in over forty-five teapot exhibitions in museums and galleries. Her work has been widely published in books on ceramics and is included in private and public collections such as the Diane and Sandy Besser Teapot Collection, the de Young Museum (CA), Everson Museum of Art (NY), the Sonny and Gloria Kamm Foundation Teapot Collection (NC), the Ichon World Ceramic Center (South Korea), the Permanent Collection of Purple Sand Factory #5 (China), San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (TX), the Jacqueline and David Charak Collection, Racine Art Museum (WI), Kohler Co. (WI), and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (WI). Frey has been an artist-in-residence at Purple Sand Factory #5 and at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Arts/Industry at Kohler Co. (WI). She is the recipient of the 2013 NCECA Excellence in Teaching Award.

Frey has a BFA in ceramics from Indiana University and an MFA in ceramics from Syracuse University. She recently retired from a forty-year teaching career at SUNY-Oswego and Texas A&M University-Commerce.
