JuYeon Kim works and lives in Brooklyn, NY. Kim’s work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including New York, NY; Washington DC; Atlanta, GA; Shanghai, China; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Seoul, South Korea. She has been awarded several prestigious residencies at institutions such as The MacDowell Colony, Triangle Artists’ Residency Program, and the Roswell Art in Residence Fellowship. Kim has also held several positions as a visiting artist and professor throughout her career. Kim has been creating a series of ‘enclosed room’ installations, playing with color, light, and space. Using the senses to create a feeling of expanse or intimacy, the spaces investigate what it is to be oneself.
