Heidi Lasher-Oakes

Heidi Lasher-Oakes was originally trained in sculpture and taught art at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 1997 to 2000. She has exhibited her works at Rice Gallery (TX) and Overture Center–James Watrous Gallery of the Wisconsin Academy. Lasher-Oakes has been challenged by a multisystem neurological illness, one of the first symptoms of which was vision loss, and received training in braille and orientation and mobility from the National Federation for the Blind in 2002. Lasher-Oakes has gone on to study biology and received her MA at Johns Hopkins University.
