German-born Sibylle Peretti lives and works in New Orleans. She received her MFA from Academy for Art and Design in Cologne, Germany and trained as a Glass Designer at the School for Glassmaking in Zweisel, Germany. Peretti was awarded a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and has been a three-time Fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center (NJ). In 2012 she was awarded the United States Artists Friends Fellowship.

Peretti’s work explores the lack of harmony between human beings and nature and our inability to become one with the natural world. During her Arts/Industry residency, she produced a series of slip-cast clay figures that exemplified the tension between beauty and disease, intimacy and distance, innocence and knowledge.
