Soo Shin

Soo Shin (IL) will be the artist-in-residence in the Foundry September 13- December 17. She received her MFA in fiber and material studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011, and her MFA (2007) and BFA (2004) in painting at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea. Shin’s work questions the inseparable nature of struggle and faith. Shin’s work has been shown in various locations in the United States and abroad. Shin is a returning Arts/Industry resident, previously having a residency in the Pottery. She has participated in several residencies, including the MacDowell Colony, Ox-bow, and Art Farm 2.
