Ways to Care

We invite you to join JMKAC in acts of care for artists and others who face economic challenges brought on by COVID-19.

The pandemic has impacted many segments of our community. Within the arts sector, concerts were cancelled, galleries closed, theaters went dark, and art fairs were cancelled–all critical sources of income for artists. In addition, individuals, families, and businesses in our community continue to struggle with the economic repercussions of shutdowns and other actions taken in the wake of the viral spread.

If you are able, please consider supporting these businesses, organizations, and relief efforts.

Commenting on his environment, The African-American Heritage Museum and Black Veterans’ Archive, Smith said “[It] is a hospital for our current condition—a new and necessary way to look at art that can help us make the choices and changes we so desperately need.” Support Dr. Smith’s ongoing work through this campaign.
