10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
In this one day workshop, learn the basic techniques to felt with merino wool roving onto silk, making a short scarf. Sculpt a unique, wearable piece of art with this versatile technique. Each participant should bring a pair of rubber gloves and wear clothing that can get wet. There will be a lunch break and participants will have an opportunity to purchase lunch from the ARTcafe or bring their own.
About the instructor:
Kati Fritz-Jung has worked with fibers, sewing since she was 12, and has always turned to art as a hobby and outlet. After working as a food scientist, Kati retired early to pursue her passion and explore art. She has been practicing the Nuno felting technique for three years and finds its forgiving nature more like sculpting than sewing as the piece evolves through the making process.
