Make + Take: Bookbinding

Two sessions available:
Sunday, May 19, 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 25, 1:00–3:00 p.m.

In this Make + Take class, you will learn simple binding techniques (such as the stab stitch or saddle stitch) to make your own sketchbook or journal. Supplies are provided and you will walk away with your own handmade book! Participants will also learn about more advanced stitches such as the Coptic stitch.

About the instructor:
Amanda Crary studied printmaking at Minnesota State and went on to complete her MFA in studio art at the University of North Carolina. Her work is often contemplative and centered on caring, giving, listening, and healing. She uses a variety of media to portray her ideas such as writing, installation, and drawing. She has taught at art centers and colleges. Teaching others to make things is one of her favorite things.
