CoRE Conversations is a series of facilitated community dialogues that began as Conversations on Race and Empowerment (CoRE) during an exhibition series in September of 2017 with Dr. Charles Smith and Heather Hart. This exhibition created a space for honest conversations and it was evident there was more to talk about after the exhibition closed in January of 2018. As new series are added each month, dialogue now encompasses the impact of race, gender, sexuality, and power in our country and community. Reverend Lex Cade-White and Alexandra Nugent, both experienced facilitators, use data-driven resources to engage participants in approachable and inclusive discussions through creative expression and self-reflection. This series equips participants with the vocabulary and knowledge needed to further their understanding of privilege and the historical and current relations among diverse groups. The CoRE Conversations series gives tools to empower participants to go out and make a difference in their communities.
