POSTPONED—Hope's Hearts

Available sessions:

Thursdays, April 2, and May 7
3:00–7:00 p.m.

Hope's Hearts, a community art project, encourages creativity while raising awareness of human trafficking. Placed all around Sheboygan County, the art raises awareness and fosters hope, thus reducing vulnerability to human trafficking for those who encounter it. Hope's Hearts is a collaboration between the nonprofit Freedom Cry and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Promoting the reduction of vulnerability to human trafficking has been a major focus of Freedom Cry since its inception in 2014.

During the workshops, you’ll create beautiful ceramic wind chimes from clay. The finished chimes receive a tag with crisis resources, and are then placed throughout Sheboygan County. The goal is for people to find them, gather encouragement from one of the five words stamped on the hearts, and reach out to the crisis resources if needed. Together we can encourage and strengthen our community!

The five words of encouragement are:
Hope—courage to keep moving forward
Courage—strength to make the journey
Strength—inner power to withstand whatever comes
Faith—wings and sail of our dreams
Wisdom—guardian of our choices

Hope’s Hearts workshops take place in the Community STUDIO the first Thursday of every month.
