Over 400 time cards filled out with stories by visitors to the Community Gallery, weeks of meetings with local quilters pooling their talents to make a quilt, and a collaboration with wood-carvers and local laborers have brought Illinois artist Michael Dinges’s residency at the Arts Center to an end. But wait, the project will culminate in an exhibition of all the works produced and will be on view through November.
There is still an opportunity to be a part of this exhibition; join Dinges as he teaches the community how to scrimshaw their own markers for placement on the Sheboygan County map in the gallery. This map shows locations of interest and skill sets around the county.
Connecting Communities collaborations are supported in part by the Bert L. and Patricia S. Steigleder Charitable Trust, a generous foundation that prefers anonymity, and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
