Remarkable works of art have been created over the decades since the Arts Center and its Community Partners developed this collaborative residency program. Each project has engaged a diverse range of participants that includes Arts Center members, the broader public, and constituencies who have had limited access to the arts.
The number of people who have collaborated on Connecting Communities projects now numbers in the thousands. Many have said the experience changed the way they think, work with others, view the arts, and live their lives. In selecting projects, the Arts Center and its partners seek to involve only extraordinary artists who are committed to enhancing constituents’ lives and understanding of the arts and whose own careers and lives will be impacted by participation in Connecting Communities.
Here are some of the past Connecting Communities projects.
