"A globally flavored recipe that packs some punch lines."—Associated Press
As he does in The Cooking Show Con Karimi & Castro, national poetry slam champion and Def Poetry Jam performer Robert Farid Karimi facilitated the discussion of social change and concepts of mixed culture with the community. Adults, teens, and children were invited to collaborate with Karimi to create a new multidisciplinary performance utilizing documentary theater, spoken word, movement, music, and humor that explored issues of mixed identity and the intersections of various cultures in Sheboygan.
Robert Karimi was in residence in the Arts/Industry program from January 2–February 23, 2008 through a Midwest Voices and Visions Fellowship, funded by the Joyce Foundation in collaboration with the Arts Center’s Arts/Industry program.
