Past Connecting Communities

UTOPIALAB

OCTOBER–DECEMBER 2010

As a child, Xenobia scavenged materials to build tree forts, embellish clothing, and reimagine toys that instilled in her the belief that there is no such thing as a creative block, only underutilized imaginations. With the conviction that the creative impulse will bloom if people inspire themselves, participants were invited to shape the UtopiaLAB with Xenobia.

A limited number of special tours and collaboration times with Xenobia were available in October 2009. In addition, from October through December 2009, there were tours, take-away workshop materials, and UtopiaLAB collaboration opportunities available. Informal beginning crochet workshops were also available periodically.

Connecting Communities collaborations are supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Bert L. and Patricia S. Steigleder Charitable Trust.
