Chloë Bass’s art focuses on intimacy as manifested in everyday settings. Her interdisciplinary works lead the viewer through successive stages of artistic communication, fostering a multifaceted engagement with the exploration of intimacy between two people. In Bass’s work, differing materials constitute new voices and variable entry points in an ever-evolving story. Bass is a 20202022 Faculty Fellow for the Seminar in Public Engagement at the Center for Humanities (City University of New York Graduate Center), a 20202022 Lucas Art Fellow at Montalvo Art Center, and was a 2019 Art Matters grantee. Her projects have appeared nationally and internationally, including recent exhibitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem, New YorkKunsthalle Wilhelmshaven in Germany; the Knockdown Center in New York; the Brooklyn Museum; and the CUE Art Foundation, New York.
