S. Judson Wilcox earned a BA from Hope College, Holland, Michigan, and an MFA from The University of Alabama. His work has been exhibited at Heath Gallery, Atlanta; Porcelli Gallery, Akron, Ohio; Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alabama; and Southern Ohio Museum, Chillicothe, Ohio. In the late 1970s, Wilcox played a key role in developing Cleveland’s Warehouse District into what is now the city’s arts epicenter. While a professor of art at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, in the early 1980s, he was also an editor for the arts publication ArtCrimes, an underground periodical published by the poet Steven B. Smith. Wilcox was an Arts/Industry resident in 1984.
