Houa Yang

Houa Yang is the Sheboygan County mental health project coordinator for Project Resiliency at the Wisconsin United Coalition of Mutual Assistance Association. She holds a BFA from UW-Milwaukee and is a certified peer specialist by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Yang combines art with health advocacy to design and implement mental health workshops providing resources to increase awareness and understanding of mental health in HMong and underserved communities. She is also the director of the LunaBellas dance team which promotes self-confidence and kindness. Their influence extends internationally, co-founding the Phonsavath Library and Learning Center in Laos that promotes cultural exchange.
