The John Michael Kohler Arts Center offers a variety of professional development opportunities for educators of all grade levels and subjects.

Teacher Recharge
Teacher Recharge is a full-day professional development program focused on reenergizing attendees personal creative and teaching practices. Typically held on a Saturday, educators explore the Arts Center’s galleries and permanent collection and participate in hands-on opportunities lead by educators or teaching artists.

Teacher Fellowship Program
The Teacher Fellowship Program engages and supports an elementary, middle, and high school teacher or teacher team to develop curricula inspired by an artist in the Art Center’s collection of artist-built environments. Participating teachers receive a fully funded field trip and supplies to execute their lesson plan(s) with their students. Student work is displayed in the Arts Center’s Community Gallery and the lesson plan(s) are shared online as a resource for other educators.

Custom Programming
The Education team at the Arts Center can plan in person or virtual professional development programs for your school or organization that best fit your goals.
