Recipe Box, Memory Box: Sports Edition

August 11–August 13

The Hinterlands are back with more Recipe Box, Memory Box! This time, we leave the comfort of our own kitchen and hit the streets of Sheboygan in a series of food celebrations honoring some of the people and events that make the city special.

Tailgating for the Small Moments
Wednesday, August 11

9:30–11:30 a.m. at Workers’ Water Street Park, Tailgating for Garbage Collection & Public Works. Alcohol is prohibited.
12:30–2:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, Union Ave. (south side of park), Tailgating for Piggly Wiggly Shift Change
2:30–4:00 p.m. across from the Sheboygan County Administration Building, 508 New York Ave, Tailgating for Sheboygan County Finance Committee Meeting

The great tradition of tailgating shouldn’t be limited to just the Big Game; small moments in our lives need some cheering on, too! Come tailgate for the everyday with us! Join us at three locations around Sheboygan to show your spirit for people out in the city working hard and fighting the good fight. We’ll have cheer gear and tailgate essentials, but bring your own beverages and game day favorites, and dress to impress.

The Take Out Take Down: Sheboygan
Friday, August 13, 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Join us at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for the first ever Take Out Take Down: Sheboygan, a friendly take out race between two popular Sheboygan restaurants: El Camino and Las Brisa’s. Cheer on your favorite joints as they battle to win stunning community-made trophies for the quickest to-go order, the most delicious tastes, and more! Pre-gaming and award construction starts at 5:00 p.m. Orders will be placed around 5:45 p.m., and the food comes when it comes. Award ceremony expected at 6:45 p.m.

If you like NASCAR, football clubs, Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, Wisconsin food, and small businesses, you’ll love the Take Out Take Down.
