Entrances and Parking

JMKAC has one entrance on New York Avenue. You may drive your vehicle up to the front entrance to drop off visitors with accessibility needs prior to parking in the visitor lot across the street. A limited number of accessible spaces are located in the JMKAC parking lot on New York Avenue, across the street from the main entrance. The Art Preserve has one entrance on Lower Falls Road, located near a limited number of accessible parking spaces to the left of the main entrance in the circle drive.

Elevators

All galleries at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center are located on the first level. If you are attending a workshop on the lower level, use the elevator located on the east side of the building. A wheelchair lift is available to access the theater space.

The elevator at the Art Preserve is easily accessible on each floor of the building.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs and portable stools are available to the public at both the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the Art Preserve.

Washrooms

Washrooms are located throughout the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the Art Preserve. Baby changing stations are located in various washrooms at the Arts Center and in a second-floor washroom at the Art Preserve.

A drinking fountain can be found by the washrooms near the front entrance of the Arts Center and near the washrooms on the second floor of the Art Preserve.

Service Animals

Service animals are permitted at the Arts Center and the Art Preserve.

Translations

Spanish and Hmong language translations are available. Please email generalinfo@jmkac.org with four weeks’ notice.

Descriptive Tours and Touch Objects

Descriptive tours with touch objects can be provided for groups with visitor impairments with four weeks’ notice. Visit the Social STUDIO at the Arts Center to find our current touch objects that can be accessed at any time.

SPARK!

SPARK! is a free, monthly opportunity for people in the early to mid-stages of memory loss to visit with their family, caregivers, or group facility and engage in a 90-minute, exhibition-related program. Learn more here.

Entry Fee

The Arts Center and the Art Preserve are free and open to the public.

Groups

Our staff is happy to work with educators and adult tour groups to accommodate requests or preferences in creating custom visits for visitors with specific needs. To plan a K-12 field trip or college group visit, connect with Lisa DiPuma Gonzalez at 920-458-6144 or lgonzalez@jmkac.org.
